About Our Client

This role is responsible for enhancing the visibility and reputation of the firm's Asia platform, its practices and its lawyers through strategic media engagement and thought leadership initiatives.The position requires strong media relations expertise, excellent writing and editing capabilities, and the ability to translate complex legal and business topics into clear, engaging narratives.

Job Description

  • Design and implement integrated communications strategies to elevate the firm's profile across Asia, including drafting press releases, website content, and related materials showcasing key developments, capabilities, transactions, and litigation successes.
  • Identify and leverage opportunities to raise the visibility of practices and partners through media outreach, thought leadership campaigns, and expert commentary; develop supporting messaging and briefing materials.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regional media outlets and journalists, while supporting senior stakeholders in cultivating strategic media connections.
  • Lead the development and execution of content across digital and editorial channels, including bylined articles, website updates (e.g., partner profiles and practice descriptions), and social media platforms such as WeChat and LinkedIn.
  • Support positioning efforts through awards submissions, market research, and competitive intelligence by monitoring industry developments and peer activity across Asia.
  • Contribute to broader communications and business development initiatives, including creating marketing materials, mentoring junior team members, and supporting departmental projects, processes, and best practices.

The Successful Applicant

  • Degree specialization in Communications, English, Marketing, Advertising, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience leading regional or global communications initiatives, ideally within a law firm or professional / financial services environment.
  • Fluency in English and Chinese written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities, with experience managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and addressing reputational and business challenges.
  • Proven ability to build and manage relationships with senior stakeholders, demonstrating sound judgement and professionalism.
  • Strong capability to distil complex information into clear, persuasive messaging for external audiences.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively in dynamic environments.
