Job Description

  • Lead the development and maintenance of end-to-end application solutions across frontend, backend, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Participate in architecture design discussions and drive the implementation of new features, systems, and technology enhancements.
  • Ensure high-quality software delivery through code reviews, technical governance, and adherence to development best practices.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams and vendors.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices, including authentication, authorization, data protection, and threat mitigation.
  • Build scalable, maintainable, and well-documented applications following industry standards and coding guidelines.
  • Manage external vendors to deliver projects on time, within budget, and according to quality expectations.
  • Contribute to Agile/SCRUM planning, estimation, and delivery of user stories and project milestones.
  • Provide production support and incident resolution outside business hours when required.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience, with preference for candidates possessing 8-10 years of full-stack development experience and prior technical leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Java and/or cloud-based application development environments.
  • Proficiency in modern full-stack technologies such as Angular, React, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with Azure Cloud services, AKS, Azure databases, or other major cloud platforms; exposure to Alibaba Cloud and PolarDB is an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Git-based version control, and automated deployment processes.
  • Strong knowledge of application security, performance optimization, coding standards, and software engineering best practices.
  • Proven experience managing vendors and coordinating external development teams.
  • Ability to work independently, influence technical decisions, and mentor team members.
  • Exposure to AI-related technologies, solutions, or projects is highly desirable.
  • Experience within the insurance industry, particularly in claims-related systems and processes, is a plus.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and project delivery skills, with experience managing sizeable projects or programs preferred.
