About Our Client

Our client/current company is a leading property developer with a strong presence in Hong Kong. We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to support the business across a wide range of real estate matters, with a primary focus on real estate financing, loan transactions, commercial work, and leasing.

Job Description

  • Advise on and support financing transactions, including bank loans, refinancing, and syndications
  • Review, draft, and negotiate loan agreements, security documents, guarantees, and related financing documentation
  • Coordinate with lenders, financial institutions, and external counsel to close financing transactions efficiently
  • Provide legal support on treasury and funding structures
  • Agreements related to property development, asset management, and operations
  • Draft and review contracts such as: JV and shareholders' agreements, consultancy and service agreements, procurement and construction-related agreements
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks while aligning with business objectives
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial leasing documents (office, retail)
  • Advise on landlord and tenant matters, including tenancy disputes, renewals, and enforcement issues
  • Support asset management teams on leasing strategies and legal implications

The Successful Applicant

  • Qualified Hong Kong lawyer, 8+ years' PQE, ideally gained in a top-tier law firm and/or in-house environment
  • Strong experience in: Real estate finance, property-related commercial work, leasing matters (Hong Kong market preferred)
  • Proven ability to handle complex transactions independently
  • Commercially minded with strong negotiation and drafting skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
