About Our Client



Our client is a Leading Accessories Trading company with an international footprint and decades of history. They are now looking for a PD & Design Leader to join their expanding team.As Product Design & Development Director, you will provide strategic, commercial, and creative leadership across product development and design for both product and packaging.

Job Description

  • Lead and align Product Development and Design teams to deliver commercially successful product ranges
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to support growth, innovation, and delivery objectives
  • Translate market insights (retail trends, competitors, suppliers, data) into scalable product strategies
  • Oversee range architecture and portfolio planning (core, volume, fashion tiers) to optimise margin and sell-through
  • Embed sustainability into mainstream product development as a key commercial differentiator
  • Partner with supply chain to align vendor strategy with cost, speed, and innovation goals
  • Champion digital transformation and 3D capability expansion to accelerate speed-to-market
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
  • Mentor and develop leadership teams, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and commercial awareness
  • Act as a senior decision-maker, aligning stakeholders and driving strategic clarity



The Successful Applicant

  • 10+ years' experience in product design and development leadership (accessories preferred)
  • Proven track record operating in global retail environments, especially US & European markets
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience balancing innovation, margin, and scalability
  • Demonstrated success managing complex product portfolios and range strategies
  • Experience working with international factories and vendor networks
  • Strong understanding of sustainable product development and material innovation
  • Proven ability to drive digital transformation (including 3D development tools)
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior level
  • Comfortable leveraging AI and digital tools across the product lifecycle
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and relevant development tools
  • Degree in Design, Product Development, Marketing, or related discipline
  • Fluent English required (Cantonese / Mandarin advantageous)
