About Our Client

Our client is a leading media and content business with a strong portfolio of brands, digital platforms, content productions, licensing partnerships, and commercial ventures across the region. To support ongoing growth, they are seeking a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join their legal team, focusing on intellectual property matters and related commercial legal work.

Job Description

The Legal Counsel will provide legal support across a broad spectrum of intellectual property, content, licensing, and commercial matters. Working closely with business stakeholders, editorial, content production, marketing, digital, and commercial teams, the successful candidate will protect and maximize the value of the company's IP assets while enabling business growth and innovation.

The Successful Applicant

  • Advise on copyright, trademark, branding, licensing, content exploitation, and other IP-related matters.
  • Manage and protect the company's intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks, copyrights, domain names, and related rights.
  • Conduct IP risk assessments and provide practical legal solutions to support business initiatives.
  • Handle trademark filing, prosecution, maintenance, oppositions, and enforcement matters in collaboration with external counsel.
  • Support IP enforcement activities, including infringement investigations, cease-and-desist actions, and dispute resolution.
  • Provide legal support for new business initiatives and commercial projects
  • Advise on legal and regulatory issues affecting media, content, advertising, marketing, and digital businesses.
  • Monitor legal developments and assess their impact on the business.
  • Support compliance policies, training, and internal governance processes.
