Job Description

The bank is seeking for a strategic and hands-on Head of Human Resources to lead and drive the people agenda in alignment with overall business strategy for their Hong Kong operations. This senior leadership role will partner closely with the C-Suite Executives to shape and execute HR strategies that support organisational growth, cultural transformation, and leadership capability.The role is responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of HR functions, including organisational development, talent acquisition and management, learning and development, performance management, total rewards, employee engagement, and HR operations. You will play a key role in leading organisational design and restructuring initiatives to enhance business efficiency and agility, while driving HR transformation and continuous improvement. The role also ensures strong HR governance and regulatory compliance through effective controls and timely reporting, while aligning local HR practices with Group policies, regulatory requirements, and market best practices.In addition, you will oversee compensation frameworks and reward structures, manage succession planning and talent development for critical roles, drive employee engagement and act as a trusted advisor and sounding board for staff. You will play a key role in leading organizational design and restructuring initiatives to enhance business efficiency and agility, while driving HR transformation and continuous improvement.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate should have/be:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Human Resources, Business, or related disciplines
  • Preferably holds professional HR membership and HKIB ECF certification in operational risk management
  • Minimum 15 years of stable HR experience from a multinational corporation, including at least 5 years in a leadership role (must be within the banking or financial services/insurance sector)
  • Well-versed in local HR statutory requirements, labour laws, tax regulations, and relevant legislation
  • Experience working in a corporate banking environment is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of local HR trends and market best practices
  • Proven experience managing diverse HR functions within a complex organisation and partnering with senior business leaders across various locations
  • Demonstrated ability to drive organisational change and transformation while balancing strategic thinking with operational execution
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with high integrity and sound judgement
  • Patient, thoughtful and commercial savvy with the ability to influence and guide
  • Familiarity with HR digital transformation initiatives and HRIS systems
  • Fluent in spoken English and Cantonese
