Our client is seeking a highly capable General Counsel to lead the legal/risk strategy for the fund.

Our client is a Asian quantitative investment firm founded nearly a decade ago that uses AI and machine learning to identify inefficiencies within the market. Its core leadership comes from prestigious technology firms and universities globally, and has helped its AUM to nearly double in the last 3 years.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the firm's legal advisor on trading, market conduct and securities regulation across HK, SG, and other SEA jurisdictions
  • Oversee legal support for fund formation, M&A, JVs, VC and strategic transactions
  • Lead the Legal & Compliance department and supervise regional compliance functions to maintain independence of regulated entities
  • Build and manage relationships with leading law firms and compliance service providers across jurisdictions

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications:

  • Common Law Qualified with 10+ years of experience
  • BigLaw background and experience working in-house within an Asset Management, Hedge Fund, or Market Maker
  • Experience managing relationship with financial regulators (ie. SFC, MAS, SEC, and FCA)
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English both written and spoken
