Our client is a leading global apparel manufacturing company with an extensive international footprint across Asia, North America, and Europe. The company partners with globally recognised retailers and brands, offering end-to-end product development, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain solutions.

Due to continued business growth, they are looking to appoint a Trade Compliance Specialist to support their Asia-based export operations serving the US market.

Job Description

As a Trade Compliance Assistant Manager, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Managing import and export processes to comply with trade regulations.
  • Ensuring proper documentation for customs clearance and compliance purposes.
  • Monitoring and updating trade compliance policies and procedures.
  • Collaborating with logistics teams to optimise supply chain efficiency.
  • Conducting internal audits to identify and address compliance risks.
  • Providing guidance and training on trade compliance requirements to relevant teams.
  • Maintaining relationships with customs authorities and external agencies.
  • Staying updated on changes in international trade regulations and advising management accordingly.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor Degree
  • 5 years of trade compliance experience focusing on US customs, preferably in apparel manufacturing/ trading industry
  • Hands-on experience supporting US-bound imports from Asia.
  • Experience reviewing and validating US HTS classifications.
  • Ability to determine and validate appropriate tariff classifications using product specifications and the Harmonised Tariff Schedule.
  • Experience working directly with U.S. customs brokers.
  • Familiarity with customs entry documentation.
  • Strong written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
