About Our Client

Our client is a well-established financial institution operating critical market infrastructure platforms in Hong Kong. Due to ongoing technology initiatives, they are looking for an experienced Java Developer to join their growing technology team.

Job Description

  • Design, develop, and support enterprise-grade backend applications and transaction processing systems.
  • Participate in the full software development life cycle, including requirement analysis, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Enhance and maintain existing business-critical applications to ensure system stability, scalability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, quality assurance teams, and infrastructure teams to deliver technology solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Prepare technical specifications, architecture documentation, deployment procedures, and operational guides.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve system efficiency, automate processes, and optimize application performance.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions when required.

The Successful Applicant

  • Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on software development experience.
  • Solid Java development experience in enterprise environments.
  • Experience building applications using microservices architecture.
  • Exposure to cloud-native technologies and container platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging technologies, including Kafka, is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as GitLab, Jira, SonarQube, Nexus, and JUnit.
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, ORM frameworks (Hibernate preferred), relational databases, and Linux environments.
  • Understanding of secure coding standards, application monitoring, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Experience in financial services, capital markets, banking, or other regulated industries would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
