The Senior System Specialist - Win Monitoring role involves managing and maintaining system monitoring platforms to ensure optimal performance and availability. This temporary position in the Technology & Telecoms industry is based in Kowloon and requires expertise in Windows systems monitoring.

Job Description

  • Maintain and enhance large-scale Windows Server environments, with a focus on RDS farms and profile servers.
  • Perform system upgrades, configuration, hardening, and troubleshooting across production platforms.
  • Support availability and performance monitoring using enterprise monitoring tools and SNMP-based solutions.
  • Apply Windows GPO policies for OS hardening, security lockdown, and quota management.
  • Investigate and resolve system issues, including those caused by security benchmarks and hardening standards.
  • Provide out-of-office-hours support when required for critical system incidents.
  • Work closely with infrastructure supervisors and internal stakeholders on operational tasks.
  • Support systems used by public-sector customers in a highly controlled environment.

The Successful Applicant

  • University degree holder in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience supporting Windows Server environments.
  • Strong practical experience with Windows RDS services and RDS profile servers.
  • Solid knowledge of deploying, configuring, securing, and troubleshooting RDS infrastructure.
  • Experience applying Windows GPOs, CIS benchmarks, and OS hardening practices.
  • Hands-on exposure to enterprise monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, NNMi, or PRTG.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes, including incident and change management.
  • Experience using ticketing systems such as BMC Remedy or OpenText SMAX is an advantage.
  • Background in system integration or government IT support projects is highly preferred.
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
