Our client is a well-established and leading food manufacturer in Hong Kong with a strong heritage in food products and a growing presence across regional markets. With decades of industry expertise, they are committed to innovation, quality, and continuous product evolution to meet changing consumer needs.

As part of the strategic growth, they are expanding our product development capabilities and seeking a high-caliber professional to drive new product initiatives from concept to launch.

Job Description

  • Lead new product development (NPD) projects from concept creation through to commercialisation
  • Conduct recipe and formulation development, including trials, adjustments, and optimisation
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (procurement, operations, QA) to ensure feasibility and scalability of new products
  • Manage product testing, pilot runs, and factory trials, ensuring consistency and product quality
  • Source and evaluate new raw materials and ingredients, working closely with suppliers
  • Ensure all products comply with food safety regulations and quality standards
  • Monitor market trends, but translate insights into product innovation, not marketing strategies
  • Maintain documentation related to product specifications, processes, and compliance
  • Support cost optimisation initiatives through ingredient and process improvements



The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Food Science, Food Technology, or related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in product development within food manufacturing / F&B industry
  • Proven experience in new product development (NPD), preferably in staple food or packaged food categories
  • Strong knowledge of food formulation, processing, and manufacturing scale-up
  • Hands-on and practical - comfortable working in both office and factory environments
  • Good understanding of food safety standards and regulatory requirements
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
  • Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
