About Our Client

Our client is a highly regarded family office with a diversified global investment portfolio spanning real estate, private equity, capital markets, and strategic investments. As part of its continued expansion in international real estate development and construction projects, the family office is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide legal support across overseas property acquisitions, developments, construction projects, asset management, and related investment activities.

Job Description

  • Provide legal advice and support on overseas real estate acquisitions, developments, construction projects, joint ventures, and asset management matters.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a broad range of legal documentation, including: Sale and purchase agreements, Development agreements, Construction and consultancy contracts, Property management and leasing agreements, financing and security documents
  • Support project development teams throughout the entire project lifecycle, from land acquisition and project structuring through construction, completion, and operation.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel across different jurisdictions and manage legal budgets effectively.
  • Conduct legal due diligence for prospective real estate and infrastructure investments.
  • Identify legal, regulatory, construction, and commercial risks and provide practical solutions to mitigate exposure.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting international real estate and construction activities.
  • Assist with corporate governance, compliance matters, and general legal support for the family office's investment platforms.



The Successful Applicant

  • Qualified lawyer in a common law jurisdiction
  • Minimum 6 years' PQE gained from reputable law firms and/or multinational corporations.
  • Strong experience in real estate, property development, construction, infrastructure, or project-related legal matters.
  • Solid understanding of construction contracts, project documentation, and development structures.
  • Commercially astute with strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with investment, finance, and project teams.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Fluency in English and Chinese (written and spoken) is essential.
