Job Description

As a Legal Counsel, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing legal advice and support across various business units within the organisation.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and legal documents.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Managing legal risks and providing solutions to mitigate potential issues.
  • Supporting regulatory filings and liaising with regulatory authorities when required.
  • Assisting in dispute resolution and managing external counsel where necessary.
  • Keeping up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations relevant to the financial services industry.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to align legal strategies with business objectives.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Legal Counsel should have:

  • A degree in law and qualified to practice in Hong Kong or another common law jurisdiction.
  • Over 3 years of experience in providing legal support in PE / Fund formation.
  • Strong knowledge of legal principles and regulatory requirements in financial services.
  • Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate legal documents effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise with stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English and Chinese both spoken and written
