A leading securities firm is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to support its Investment Banking businesses on a 4-month maternity cover contract. The role will provide legal and regulatory advice on transactions, documentation, and business initiatives while partnering closely with stakeholders across Hong Kong and Mainland China.

Job Description

As a Legal Counsel, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing legal advice on investment banking and corporate transactions.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and agreements.
  • Ensuring compliance with local and international regulations relevant to financial services.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to support business objectives.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legal developments in the financial services sector.
  • Engaging with external legal counsel when required.
  • Providing training and guidance to internal stakeholders on legal matters.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Legal Counsel should have:

    • Qualified lawyer with at least 4 years'PQE.
    • Relevant experience gained in private practice and/or financial institutions.
    • Exposure to investment banking, corporate finance or capital markets matters.
    • Strong English and Chinese communication skills, including Mandarin.
