About Our Client

The organisation operates in the financial services industry in Hong Kong.

Job Description

  • Provide application support and maintenance for in-house and vendor solutions across the APAC region
  • Analyse business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and enhance Java, Python, or Perl applications
  • Investigate production incidents and deliver timely resolutions or workarounds
  • Support day-to-day business operations through troubleshooting and user assistance
  • Improve monitoring capabilities and optimise operational processes
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, development teams, and external vendors
  • Participate in system upgrades, patch management, and platform enhancements
  • Contribute to project implementation including design reviews, UAT, and production releases
  • Conduct code reviews and promote development best practices
  • Manage source control, build, and deployment activities using Git and CI/CD tools
  • Support Agile delivery initiatives and continuous improvement activities
  • Participate in on-call support rotation and occasional weekend deployments

The Successful Applicant

  • Degree holder in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related disciplines
  • Minimum 3 years of software development experience
  • Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or Perl
  • Experience supporting enterprise applications in a production environment
  • Hands-on knowledge of Linux/Unix platforms and shell scripting
  • Familiarity with Git and build/deployment tools such as Jenkins or Bamboo
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle, testing, and release management
  • Basic knowledge of infrastructure components including networking and operating systems
  • Exposure to financial services, trading, or clearing systems is advantageous
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage business users effectively
  • Able to work independently and collaborate within regional teams
  • Experience working in Agile or other project delivery methodologies
