Our client is a well-known Investment Bank with global presence. Currently, they are looking for a Controller to join their team in monitoring Trading Activity.

Job Description

  • Proactively monitor trading activity, identifying, analyzing, and escalating any unusual or potentially risky transactions.
  • Maintain comprehensive awareness of developments, trends, and issues impacting assigned trading desks.Partner closely with traders and desk management to provide timely financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Operations teams to investigate and resolve discrepancies, breaks, and operational issues.
  • Evaluate risks embedded in trading positions, including market, valuation, compliance, and reputational risks.
  • Produce and review daily P&L reports for trading desks, including detailed price verification to ensure accurate and reasonable valuation of positions, leveraging the firm's accounting systems.
  • Perform independent price verification (IPV) on trading inventories, ensuring adherence to valuation policies and controls.
  • Execute month-end close processes, including preparation and validation of financial data for posting to the firm's general ledger.

The Successful Applicant

  • Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications such as CPA or CFA are preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and budgeting.
  • Excellent PC skills (particularly Excel) and highly numerate.
