Job Description

As a Solution Architect, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the design of high-level and detailed architectures enhancements, including microservices (e.g., SpringBoot backend, ReactJS frontend) and integrations with legacy systems (e.g., EBMS, Sendbird, Tealium).
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies aligned with 2025 trends, such as AI/ML for buyer matching (e.g., AWS SageMaker) and sustainable AWS practices (e.g., carbon-efficient resource allocation).
  • Conduct impact assessments and feasibility studies for requirements (e.g., multiple factory locations, spam control per Vol 2), ensuring compliance with baselines like 99.9% availability, AES-256 encryption, and WCAG 2.0 accessibility.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and our team in joint envision sessions to prioritize backlogs, design scalable data models (e.g., DynamoDB sharding), and optimize for global traffic spikes.
  • Oversee CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices using AWS tools (e.g., CodePipeline, ECS, Lambda) to support 4 annual releases in 3-4 month cycles.
  • Mitigate architectural risks, such as integration challenges or performance bottlenecks, through prototypes, PoCs, and root-cause analysis.
  • Produce architectural documentation (e.g., diagrams, ER models, Swagger APIs) and facilitate knowledge transfer via training sessions for clients.
  • Ensure solutions meet business needs, including revenue features (e.g., online promotions) and security audits (e.g., AWS WAF, Inspector).
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, adapting designs for emerging tech like headless commerce and AI solutions architecture.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Solution Architect should have:

  • Educational Background, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Cloud & Architecture Expertise, Deep knowledge of AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, API Gateway, OpenSearch, SageMaker) and microservices architecture.
  • Technical Proficiency, Strong skills in frontend and backend technologies: ReactJS, SpringBoot/Java, RESTful APIs, and event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka).
  • Methodologies & Tools, Experience with hybrid Agile-Waterfall approaches, co-development practices, and tools like Jira, Confluence, and Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • System Design & Analysis, Ability to model systems using UML, C4 diagrams, and evaluate trade-offs between performance, cost, and scalability.
  • Communication & Language Skills, Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with proficiency in English and Cantonese preferred.
  • Business Alignment & Compliance, Capability to align technical solutions with business requirements, including risk assessment and compliance standards.
  • Advanced Credentials & Emerging Tech, Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, TOGAF, or AI/ML-specific credentials; experience with 2025 trends like AI integration, sustainable IT, edge computing, blockchain for secure B2B transactions; portfolio of global high-traffic architecture designs; familiarity with B2B trends (OMO models, SEO, real-time analytics); and experience in CRM, e-Marketing Place/E-commerce.
