Job Description

  • Deploy, configure, administer, and provide technical support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments supporting a HKSAR Government customer.
  • Perform installation, system configuration, OS hardening, patch management, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of RHEL servers.
  • Monitor and maintain the health, security, and availability of Linux infrastructure across physical and virtualized environments.
  • Investigate and resolve system incidents, service requests, and technical issues in accordance with established service levels.
  • Support system upgrades, maintenance activities, change implementations, and disaster recovery exercises.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and vendor teams to ensure stable and secure service delivery.
  • Prepare and maintain system documentation, operating procedures, and technical reports.
  • Participate in on-call and out-of-office-hours support when required.

The Successful Applicant

  • Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of solid hands-on experience in supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers.
  • Proven experience in RHEL installation, configuration, OS hardening, patching, system administration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting RHEL 8 (or above) in medium to large-scale environments with 100+ physical or virtual server instances.
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.



Good to Have

  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) and/or LPIC Level 2 certification.
  • Experience working with an IT System Integration (SI) service provider.
  • Hands-on experience supporting RHEL operating systems in a HKSAR Government IT implementation or maintenance project.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes, including Incident Management and Change Management.
  • Experience using IT service management and ticketing platforms such as BMC Remedy and/or OpenText SMAX.
  • Experience working in enterprise or mission-critical environments with high availability and security requirements.
