Our client, one of the world's largest green energy suppliers and a global leader in offshore and onshore wind power, solar energy, and green hydrogen development, is seeking a Senior/Principal Software Engineer (Automated Testing) to develop and enhance testing tools for its firmware testing platform.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • The selected candidate will be responsible for developing software testing tools on a complicated firmware testing platform;
  • This role requires the candidate to create test plans and test cases, design testing procedures, and use Scripting languages (Java, JavaScript, Python or C#) to automate testing and generate validation reports.
  • The candidate will work closely with the firmware team to understand specific requirements and build testing platforms that meet specialized needs.
  • For Lead Engineer-level candidates, the role also involves leading a small team in implementing new features and resolving software bugs, backlogs, and system issues to ensure the reliability, stability, and performance of the testing platform and related systems.

The Successful Applicant

Must-Have Requirements

  • Higher Diploma/ Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in a Software Development role, with hands-on experience in test automation (mandatory);
  • Proven programming experience in Java, JavaScript and/ or Python;
  • Strong understanding of software Test-Driven Development;
  • Experience developing applications using Spring Framework libraries and working with CI/CD pipelines and frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.



Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with source code control and configuration management tools (e.g., Git, SVN).
  • Hands-on experience leveraging AI technologies to enhance productivity and software quality.
  • Experience working with integration testing frameworks.
  • Experience with task automation tools and scripting, such as PowerShell.
