About Our Client

This is a confidential hiring for a lab technician to work in the education field to support the science department with prep work and post lessons support in the science lessons.

This role will play a pivotal role to support the teacher to maximise efficiency for the lessons.

Job Description

As a Lab Technician, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare equipment, materials and specimens for science lessons and practical activities.
  • Set up laboratory spaces before classes to ensure resources are ready for use.
  • Clear, clean and store equipment after practical sessions to keep laboratories organised.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of laboratory supplies and flag items that need replacement.
  • Label and store science materials carefully to support safe and efficient access.
  • Carry out routine checks on laboratory equipment and report faults when identified.
  • Support teachers with the practical arrangements needed for planned science activities.
  • Keep laboratory work areas tidy and ready for day-to-day education use.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Lab Technician should have:

  • Higher education in a relevant degree
  • Prior experience working in the education industry will have an advantage
  • Practical ability to prepare and maintain science laboratory equipment and materials.
  • Knowledge of safe storage, handling and labelling of science resources.
  • Experience of organising supplies, equipment and laboratory work areas.
  • Ability to follow lesson requirements and prepare resources to an agreed schedule.
  • Careful attention when checking equipment and maintaining accurate stock records.
  • Ability to work effectively with teachers in an education setting.
  • Strong Language skills- English is required
