The business is seeking several headcounts of senior relationship-driven professional who can leverage existing institutional networks to accelerate fundraising and mandate growth.

Job Description

  • Drive business development and fundraising initiatives targeting mainland Chinese institutional investors, with a focus on banks, insurance companies, wealth management subsidiaries, and other large financial institutions.
  • Originate, cultivate and manage senior-level relationships with key stakeholders and investment decision-makers across mainland financial institutions, identifying opportunities for discretionary mandates, outsourced investment mandates and customized investment solutions.
  • Lead the entire business development cycle, including client origination, investment proposal development, fundraising, mandate acquisition, onboarding and ongoing relationship management.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to deepen wallet share with existing institutional investors while expanding the firm's presence among mainland financial institutions.
  • Maintain comprehensive understanding of mainland institutional investors' asset allocation trends, investment preferences, risk management requirements, and internal approval processes to enhance business conversion efficiency.
  • Coordinate closely with investment, product, legal and compliance teams to structure and deliver investment solutions aligned with client requirements and regulatory considerations.
  • Monitor market developments, competitor activities and regulatory changes affecting mainland institutional capital flows and outsourced investment opportunities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients by providing market insights, portfolio solutions and strategic recommendations that support long-term partnerships.

The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum 10 years of institutional business development, fundraising, client coverage or mandate sales experience within asset management, securities, insurance asset management, banking or related financial institutions.
  • Demonstrated success in sourcing and securing institutional mandates and fundraising from mainland Chinese financial institutions, including banks, insurance companies, wealth management subsidiaries, pension-related investors, or other large institutional allocators.
  • Extensive and well-established network across mainland financial institutions, with direct access to key investment decision-makers, investment committees and senior management.
  • Strong understanding of mainland institutional investors' internal approval processes, governance frameworks, risk control requirements and investment due diligence procedures.
  • Proven ability to originate and convert outsourced investment mandate opportunities, with hands-on experience managing fundraising and client acquisition processes from initial engagement through mandate award.
  • Deep knowledge of institutional asset allocation trends, alternative and traditional investment products, and cross-border investment solutions.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify, develop and execute revenue-generating opportunities independently.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong execution focus and ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills in Mandarin and English; Cantonese proficiency is advantageous.
