The Cost Manager is direct reporting to the VP, Sourcing & Production, the Costing Manager will play a critical role in driving product cost optimisation across Intimates, Activewear, and Sleepwear categories. This position will partner closely with Product Development, Sourcing, Material, and Vendor teams to deliver competitive costing solutions, improve profitability, and support sustainable business growth.

About Our Client

Our client is a leading global apparel manufacturer and sourcing organisation, partnering with some of the world's most recognised retailers across North America and Europe. With a well-established international sourcing network and strong manufacturing capabilities, they are seeking a commercially driven Costing Manager to join their Hong Kong team.

Job Description

  • Lead end-to-end product costing activities, including BOM analysis, cost modelling, price validation, and margin optimisation.
  • Develop innovative cost-saving initiatives and engineering solutions to improve competitiveness while maintaining product quality and performance.
  • Partner with Product Development and Design teams to identify value engineering opportunities, alternative materials, and cost-efficient manufacturing techniques.
  • Drive supplier and vendor negotiations to secure competitive pricing and ensure cost transparency across the supply chain.
  • Establish and maintain costing processes, tools, and best practices to enhance consistency and efficiency across teams.
  • Collaborate closely with Material, Sourcing, and Production teams to ensure cost targets are achieved throughout the product life-cycle.
  • Monitor market trends, raw material costs, and supplier performance to provide cost analysis and strategic recommendations.
  • Support seasonal planning and critical milestones, ensuring timely costing deliverable and alignment with development calendars.



The Successful Applicant

  • Proven experience in product costing, value engineering, or industrial engineering within the apparel, textile, or consumer goods industry.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, material consumption, manufacturing processes, and cost drivers across Intimates, Activewear, and/or Sleepwear categories.
  • Demonstrated track record in driving cost optimisation initiatives and delivering commercially viable solutions without compromising quality or performance.
  • Experienced in supplier engagement and cost negotiations, with the ability to challenge assumptions and identify value engineering opportunities.
  • Comfortable partnering with Product Development, Sourcing, Material, and Production teams to influence decision-making throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Analytical and data-driven, with the ability to interpret complex costing structures and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.
  • Proactive, hands-on, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience supporting high-volume retail programs and working with major international retailers would be highly advantageous.
