Our client is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join a strategic technology programme supporting critical business applications within a highly regulated financial services environment. Our client is one of Hong Kong's most recognised financial institutions and a key participant within the regional capital markets landscape. They are undertaking multiple strategic technology transformation programmes focused on enhancing regulatory, compliance, and corporate transaction platforms. This role provides the opportunity to work on business-critical systems with significant industry exposure and visibility.

Job Description

  • Partner with business users, project teams, and technical stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document business and system requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications and technical requirements for development teams.
  • Work closely with application development teams, architects, and vendors to design practical and scalable technology solutions.
  • Participate throughout the project lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, system integration testing, UAT support, deployment, and production rollout.
  • Conduct impact assessments, gap analysis, process mapping, and requirement traceability activities.
  • Prepare user stories, workflow diagrams, functional specifications, process documentation, and project artefacts.
  • Coordinate and support testing activities, including test case preparation, defect tracking, and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to ensure successful delivery of project milestones and releases.
  • Support production incidents, change requests, and ongoing system enhancements when required.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Around 5 years of experience in Business Analysis, System Analysis, Application Development, or a related technology role.
  • Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and project delivery methodologies.
  • Hands-on technical background with experience in application development, programming, system implementation, or technical support is highly preferred.
  • Ability to understand system architecture, APIs, databases, data flows, and integration requirements.
  • Experience working with development teams in Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to bridge business and technical teams.
  • Experience preparing business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and process documentation.
  • Exposure to web-based applications, APIs, microservices, or enterprise systems would be advantageous.
  • Experience within banking, financial services, capital markets, or other regulated industries is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese, including Mandarin.
