We are seeking a hands-on and customer-focused Pre-Sales Engineer to support enterprise and carrier customers across the APAC region. The successful candidate will work closely with Sales teams to understand customer business and technical requirements, design telecommunications and network solutions, deliver technical presentations, and drive opportunities from qualification through contract award.

This is for an international telecommunications/networking company (ISP, network infrastructure, SD-WAN, cybersecurity, cloud connectivity, data center, managed services, etc.), they are looking for a strong client-facing engineer who can engage with both business and technical stakeholders.

Job Description

  • Partner with Account Managers and Sales to identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities.
  • Gather customer requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Design end-to-end telecommunications, network, cloud connectivity, security, and managed service solutions.
  • Conduct customer meetings, technical workshops, solution demonstrations, and presentations.
  • Prepare high-quality solution proposals, Statements of Work (SOW), and RFP/RFI/RFQ responses.
  • Develop network architecture diagrams and solution documentation.
  • Provide technical consultation throughout the sales cycle.
  • Perform Proof of Concept (POC) planning, implementation, and testing.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Operations, and Project Delivery teams.
  • Support commercial discussions by evaluating technical feasibility and risks.
  • Keep current with industry trends including SD-WAN, SASE, Cloud Networking, Cybersecurity, LAN/WAN, and Data Center technologies.



The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in technical pre-sales, solutions engineering, or network consulting, ideally with both sizable and medium-sized companies
  • Strong understanding of:
    • IP Networking
    • Routing & Switching
    • MPLS
    • SD-WAN
    • Internet and WAN services
    • VPN technologies
    • Cloud connectivity
    • Data Center networking
    • Network security solutions
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Huawei, Arista, or equivalent technologies.
  • Experience responding to RFP/RFI/RFQ documents.
  • Ability to create technical designs and solution architectures.
  • Excellent verbal and written English and Chinese communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Willingness to travel across the region when required.
