Job Description

As a Head of Operations, your main responsibilities will include:Strategic Leadership & Platform Build-Out

  • Lead the end-to-end establishment of the secondary investment operations function, including processes, systems, and controls
  • Design and implement a scalable operating model to support increasing deal volume and complexity
  • Partner with global leadership to align regional execution with firmwide operational standards



Operational Excellence & Oversight

  • Oversee all operational aspects of secondary investments, including trade lifecycle management, fund operations, portfolio monitoring, and reporting
  • Ensure robust internal controls, compliance with regulatory requirements, and adherence to best practices
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging technology and automation to enhance efficiency and reduce risk



Team Leadership & Development

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of up to 10 professionals across the region
  • Establish a strong team culture with a focus on accountability, collaboration, and excellence
  • Develop succession planning and talent pipeline strategies



Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a key liaison between investment teams, fund finance, legal, risk, and external service providers
  • Collaborate with technology teams to implement and optimize systems supporting secondary investments
  • Support transaction execution, due diligence, and post-deal integration from an operational perspective



Stakeholder Management & Governance

  • Prepare and present operational updates to senior management and global stakeholders
  • Ensure alignment with headquarters on governance standards, reporting frameworks, and strategic initiatives
  • Manage relationships with external administrators, custodians, and vendors



The Successful Applicant

A successful Head of Operations should have:

  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in investment operations within a top-tier global or regional investment manager (e.g., private equity, asset management, hedge funds)
  • Proven experience in secondary investments and/or private markets operations strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of building or transforming operations functions at scale



Skills & Competencies

  • Deep understanding of the investment lifecycle, fund structures, and operational workflows
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities across multi-jurisdictional environments
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting
  • High attention to detail with strong risk awareness and control mindset
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills



Language & Education

  • Fluency in Mandarin and English is required
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related disciplines (advanced degree or professional qualification a plus)
