Benefits of Project Based Recruitment
03 May 2017
Page Outsourcing – Project Management (PPO) is a new product we recently launched designed to meet specific recruitment needs that go beyond the “normal” recruitment process, that is, the need to recruit a candidate with a specific skill set at a certain point in time.
PageGroup created this customized product in order to help our clients in a situation where they face a large number of temporary or permanent hires and therefore need to scale up their recruitment capacity for a certain period of time.
Typically we identify two situations of this nature:
1. When large corporations require a significant number of workers of a simi-lar type for a specific project; think for example of seasonal employees during Christmas time (temporary recruitment) or large compliance processes requiring adaptation to new regulations (permanent recruitment) - basically, any such situation in which a company may need to scale up their head-count within a specified period;
2. Any startup situation, such as the opening of a new office, launching a new business or project or newly set up companies. In this situation, the PPO team could help to recruit different levels of professionals at the same time and within the time frame of the startup project. For example, a company in the start-up phase would be looking for an accountant, a HR and an op-erations specialist at the same time.
In all of these scenarios the more traditional recruitment strategies may be insufficient or simply require an enormous investment of resources in terms of time and money, which could be better allocated. PPO was designed in order to meet this need. But how does it work and what are the benefits?
In any of the scenarios described above and in similar situations, you will meet with one of our PPO specialists. The consultant will listen to your needs and engineer the entire recruiting process; come up with a specific sourcing strategy, agree on a timeline, and provide a quotation for the project. The same consultant will also become your project manager. This person will be coordinating an entire team of recruitment consultants allowing you to have one point of contact for all the positions. The project manager will also report to you periodically on the progress of the project and will follow up with you regularly in every phase from sourcing to assessing to onboarding.
The three measures of success of a PPO are time, cost and quality.
Probably the most obvious benefit of PPO is cost control; predictable costs as well as better allocation of resources. Whenever recruiting for multiple roles, companies often find themselves spending money on advertising as well as discussing requirements and terms of service for every single hire. But costs can also be identified in the lengthy hiring processes, requiring your HR professional to spend an enormous amount of time on each potential candidate, from sourcing, shortlisting and assessing to, hopefully, making an offer. Streamlining your recruiting process with PPO guarantees cost control, allowing your internal resources to dedicate their time to other projects and for you to have a clear idea upfront of what the total recruitment costs would be.
If you value your time as much as your total spend, then the second benefit of PPO is as important as the first. Thanks to PPO you will be able to estimate the length of the process before starting. The PPO manager will not only recommend and agree on a realistic timeline with you but also follow up on any progress and development and be your one point of contact allowing consistent real-time reporting and detailed insights along the way.
Naturally, the PPO approach will enhance the quality of every aspect of the recruiting process: from employer branding – this is achieved when a consistent message regarding the company is delivered to the market – to internal stakeholders’ satisfaction, because the hiring managers are in full control and have knowledge of the process.
Page Outsourcing – Project Management is a strategic solution integrated in your HR function, taking volume recruitment beyond the traditional channels and resulting in a better experience for you and your employees.
Page Group has launched a new product, Page Outsourcing – Project Management (PPO), to assist businesses whose recruiting needs go above and beyond typical recruitment processes. This product aims to help two types of businesses:
1. Those in need of a large number of temporary or contract workers in a short timespan – such as a retail business that needs extra staff for a busy holiday season.
2. Start-up businesses that need to hire multiple roles of various skill levels at once – for example, a start-up that needs new BDMs, HR representatives, and operational specialists.
Our PPO solution can help companies in these unique situations fill the roles with the right talent while still maintaining predictable and reasonable costs.
