About Our Client

Our client is a leading and highly respected organization in Hong Kong, is seeking a seasoned Operational Risk professional to join their First Line of Defense (1LOD) team. This is a senior role focused on risk governance, control enhancement, and close partnership with front-office stakeholders across major trading products.

Job Description

  • Lead and strengthen the 1LOD operational risk framework, ensuring robust risk governance across front-office activities.
  • Partner with trading and business teams covering equities, derivatives, and cash products to provide proactive risk advisory.
  • Oversee risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring of key processes and controls.
  • Manage RCSA processes, operational incident review, issue remediation, and root cause analysis.
  • Drive control-testing initiatives and ensure business readiness for internal and external audits.
  • Work closely with 2LOD and senior management to uplift risk culture and industry-aligned standards.
  • Mentor junior risk team members and promote best practices across the business.



The Successful Applicant

  • 10+ years of operational risk or risk/control experience within major banks, brokers, or large global financial institutions.
  • Strong technical understanding of equities, derivatives, structured products, and cash/flow products.
  • Proven experience in a First Line of Defense risk/control role is highly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of operational risk frameworks, control design, and regulatory expectations.
  • Ability to influence front-office stakeholders and communicate effectively at senior levels.
  • Fluent English required; Cantonese/Mandarin advantageous.
