Job Description

  • Responsible for deployment, configuration, and support of Red Hat Enterprise Linux Operating System for a HKSAR government sector customer.
  • Technical hands-on position, reporting to infrastructure team supervisor.
  • Non-Shift Duty Role, but out of office hour support is expected.

The Successful Applicant

Mandatory Criteria

- University graduate.- Minimum of 3 years of solid hands-on experience in RHEL server support, including installation, configuration, OS hardening, OS patching and troubleshooting of RHEL 8 servers in an environment with over 100 physical or virtualized RHEL instances.- Holder of either technical certification.· Red Hat Certified Engineer OR;· LPIC Level 2.- Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese.Desirable Criteria

- The ideal candidate should:· Come from an IT System Integration company background;· Have worked in either implementation or maintenance phase supporting RHEL Operating System in a HKSAR Government IT Maintenance project (but not in a purely supervisory role overseeing the work of the SI vendor) ;· Familiar with ITIL Processes such as Incident Management and Change Management; and· Familiar with using ticketing systems such as BMC Remedy, OpenText SMAX to facilitate ITIL Processes.
