Leveraging your extensive experience in government relations, you will lead engagement with government agencies, stakeholders, and industry associations to advocate for the company's business interests and ensure its voice is heard in policy-making processes. Your expertise and network in the region will be critical in navigating the complex political and regulatory landscape and driving favorable outcomes for our organization. Areas of accountability will include:Develop and implement a robust government relations strategy aligned with the company's objectives.Monitor and analyze political, economic, and regulatory developments in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area to anticipate potential impacts on the business and proactively shape advocacy efforts.Cultivate and maintain relationships with government officials, regulatory bodies, industry associations, and community leaders in Hong Kong and selected Mainland China localities.Build productive partnerships with external stakeholders and media while representing the company's interestsMonitor legislative and policy initiatives to identify areas of opportunity or risk for the company; develop and implement strategies to influence and shape policies that affect our industry and business operations.Monitor and report on key government affairs developments, industry trends, and competitor activities.Develop strategies and action plans to address potential crises or issues that may arise in the government relations arena.Coordinate with internal stakeholders to effectively manage and mitigate risks related to regulatory changes, reputational concerns, or other external factors that may impact the company's operations.Collaborate with other members of the public affairs team to represent the company as a thought leader in relevant industry associations, conferences, and public forums and enhance the company's reputation as a responsible corporate citizen.The Successful ApplicantBachelor's degree in language, communications, journalism, or related disciplines8+ years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or related rolesExperience working as reporter (especially political news sector) would be greatly preferredExtensive knowledge in the political, regulatory, and business environment in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay AreaExtensive network with relevant public sector stakeholders including government officials and legislators in Hong Kong, as well as ability to connect with relevant stakeholders in Mainland China according to the company's needsExcellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to deliver engaging presentations and effectively influence decision-makers at all levelsFluency in English and Chinese (both written and spoken) is requiredWhat's on OfferThis position offers an opportunity to leverage your professional network and further develop your career in public affairs in a well-established team.
