Job Description

  • Manage Database system, ensuring availability, capacity, and 24/7 support.
  • Perform maintenance tasks on the database system, including troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and tuning.
  • Install, patch, and upgrade database servers.
  • Generate performance reports for the database system based on guidelines.
  • Assist in implementing databases to support business applications.
  • Ensure compliance and security requirements are met for the Database System infrastructure.
  • Stay updated on emerging cloud database technologies, trends, and industry best practices..
  • Monitor and manage costs associated with cloud database usage, making recommendations for optimizations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement database solutions aligned with cloud best practices.

The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in database administration, working with Oracle, MS SQL, MongoDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. Familiarity with cloud-based database technologies is desirable.
  • Proficient in tasks such as database installation, backup and recovery, performance monitoring and tuning, database monitoring, data replication, and database encryption.
  • Strong database design skills and ability to solve database-related problems.
  • Independent, self-motivated, and willing to take on challenges.
  • Capable of exercising judgment and problem-solving to prevent data incidents for internal and external customers.
  • Effective communication with colleagues and vendors at different levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written English and Chinese communication skills; fluent in spoken English.
  • Willingness to learn new IT technologies.
