Our client is an established Asset Managers in Hong Kong with over three decades of set up, backed by a prestige Chinese background of family office. They are now looking for an experienced commodities trader for their traidng team in Hong Kong. This is a newly created role, ideally looknig for somone senior enough with proven track record as team leader.

About Our Client

An established Chinese background of Asset Managers with over three decades of successful set up in Hong Kong. Registered with the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong and holds Type 1 (Dealing in securities), Type 2 (Dealing in futures contracts), Type 4 (Advising on securities), Type 5 (Advising on futures contracts), and Type 9 (Asset management) licenses.
Their services are carried out by dedicated professionals including experienced portfolio managers and specialists in the legal, finance and operations functions. The team has a strong track record in investment management and providing superior asset management services.

Job Description

  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of market conditions, trends, and economic indicators affecting commodity prices.
  • Trading Strategies: Develop and implement effective trading strategies to maximize profitability while managing risk.
  • Trade Execution: Execute trades in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Portfolio Management: Monitor and manage a diverse portfolio of commodities, including oil, gas, metals, and agricultural products.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess risks associated with trading positions, implementing strategies to mitigate potential losses.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other trading team members, analysts, and stakeholders to share insights and enhance trading strategies.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on trading performance, market trends, and risk exposure for senior management.
  • Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior traders, fostering a collaborative and high-performance trading environment.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in commodities trading or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of commodities markets and trading instruments.
  • Proven track record of successful trading strategies and risk management.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent command in both Chinese and English
