Directly reporting to the headquarters, this role will manage HR programs, policies, and activities for the firm's Asia offices.This is a new headcount to support the firm's business growth.

Job Description

General HR Management

  • Assist with HR activities: recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluation, training, compensation, employee relations, benefits.
  • Advisor for HR queries in Asia.
  • Knowledgeable about local employment laws.
  • Provide policy leadership and ensure compliance.
  • Recommend HR system improvements.



Employee Relations

  • Support Firm management's principles and programs.
  • Conduct disciplinary and termination meetings.
  • Assist with discrimination and harassment investigations.
  • Ensure local compliance.



Recruitment/Staffing

  • Implement non-discriminatory recruitment program.
  • Complete conflicts and pre-employment checks.
  • Draft offer letters and recruitment documentation.
  • Oversee International Intern Programs.
  • Assist with HR aspects of new business mergers and office openings.
  • Design and implement integration and orientation programs.



Compensation & Benefits

  • Assist with performance evaluation process.
  • Liaison for evaluations and compensation.
  • Prepare data for salary surveys; track market trends.
  • Support benefit program implementation.



Training & Development

  • Coordinate lawyer assignments and training sessions.
  • Assist with firm training programs roll-out in Asia offices.



Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervision of HR personnel in lcoal offices.
  • Dotted line supervision of Asia Office Managers/Administrators.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of regional HR management experience in an international law firm.
  • Knowledge of employment laws in Asia.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Chinese (including Mandarin).
  • Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS.
