The Quality Manager in the retail industry will oversee quality assurance processes and ensure that all products meet compliance standards and customer expectations. This role is based in Hong Kong and requires expertise in quality management within the engineering and manufacturing department.

Job Description

  • Lead the regional quality strategy and governance framework, ensuring suppliers meet the brand's global standards across product categories.
  • Oversee the full quality lifecycle by managing sample approval processes, interpreting technical specifications, and aligning factories with buyer/tech pack expectations.
  • Drive supplier performance improvement through structured corrective action programs addressing workmanship, construction, and fabric‑related issues (e.g., shading, weaving defects).
  • Provide leadership and direction to factory QC teams, ensuring consistent execution of quality inspections and monitoring production from fabric stage to final garment status.
  • Serve as a key cross‑functional partner to Technical, Merchandising, and Sourcing teams, maintaining smooth communication with overseas headquarters on approvals and quality KPIs.
  • Build and develop supplier capability through coaching, process optimisation initiatives, and preventive quality programs aimed at reducing re‑inspection and improving first‑time‑right performance.
  • Oversee quality reporting, risk identification, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure operational excellence across the regional manufacturing base.

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven experience in quality management within the retail or manufacturing sector.
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably with advanced technical training in textiles, apparel engineering, or garment technology, reflecting the depth needed to oversee high‑level technical decision‑making.
  • 7-10+ years of progressive experience in apparel quality assurance or quality management within European retail, multinational sourcing offices, or large‑scale manufacturing environments. (Expanded senior framing based on minimum 5+ years requirement.)
  • Capability to collaborate across departments and manage supplier relationships.
  • Proficiency in quality management tools and software.
