About Our Client

Our client is a dynamic and forward-thinking sports brand committed to empowering women through performance-driven, fashion-forward activewear. They are seeking a visionary Design Director to lead the Sportswear Product Design team. This role is ideal for a creative leader with a deep understanding of sportswear aesthetics, technical garment construction, and consumer trends. You will drive the design strategy, lead a talented team, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver compelling collections that resonate with our global audience.

Job Description

  • Lead the end-to-end design process for all womenswear product categories, from concept to final prototype.
  • Develop seasonal design strategies aligned with brand vision, market trends, and consumer insights.
  • Mentor and manage a team of designers, fostering creativity, collaboration, and growth.
  • Collaborate with merchandising, product development, and marketing teams to ensure cohesive storytelling and product execution.
  • Champion innovation in materials, fit, and functionality, with a strong focus on sustainability and performance.
  • Present design concepts and collections to senior leadership and external partners.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field; Master's preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in apparel design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on sportswear.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing innovative and commercially successful designs.
  • Deep understanding of technical fabrics, garment construction, and fit for activewear.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Passion for sports, wellness, and empowering women through design.
