Job Description

As the Media Relations Manager, the role will be responsible for developing and executing the company's media relations strategy to enhance the brand's visibility and reputation. This role will also handle crisis management, speech writing and preparation for C-level executives, as well as some corporate social responsibility (CSR) communications work. The position will serve as the primary liaison between the company and media outlets, proactively pitching stories, managing media inquiries, and coordinating press interviews and events.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive media relations strategy to support the company's overall communications objectives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts in Hong Kong, China and international markets
  • Develop and execute crisis communications plans to manage reputational risks
  • Prepare speeches, talking points, and other content for C-level executives
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the company's CSR communications initiatives
  • Identify and pitch newsworthy stories and company announcements to the media
  • Coordinate press conferences, media interviews, and other media-facing events
  • Manage the flow of information and respond to media inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Oversee the creation of press releases, media kits, and other external-facing collateral
  • Monitor media coverage and provide regular reporting and analysis to the leadership team
  • Lead a small team of communications professionals and provide guidance on media relations activities



The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum 10-12 years of relevant experience in corporate communications and media relations, with a proven track record of success
  • A bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Corporate communications or related discipline
  • Prior work experience as a reporter or journalist is an advantage
  • Fluent in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), both written and spoken
  • Demonstrated expertise in crisis management and executive communications
  • Some experience in developing and executing CSR communications programs is an advantage
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Has strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Experience leading and mentoring a small team of communications professionals of minimum 3-5 years
