Job Description

  • Coordinate and manage the end-to-end logistics operations for commodities, ensuring efficient and timely movement of goods.
  • Oversee the processing and execution of letters of credit (L/C), including reviewing terms, preparing documentation, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Handle import and export documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin, to ensure accuracy and compliance with customs requirements.
  • Collaborate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers to arrange and monitor transportation, including shipping schedules, container bookings, and tracking of shipments.
  • Ensure timely customs clearance by closely monitoring and coordinating with customs authorities to comply with all applicable regulations and documentation requirements.
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers to address logistics-related inquiries, resolve issues, and provide regular updates on shipment status.
  • Conduct periodic audits of logistics processes, documentation, and records to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, sales, and finance, to ensure seamless coordination and execution of logistics activities.
  • Provide support in contract execution, including reviewing terms and conditions, verifying compliance, and coordinating with relevant parties to ensure contract fulfillment.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in logistics operations, particularly in commodities, L/C management, import/export documentation, and customs clearance.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and Incoterms.
  • Familiarity with contracts and contract execution processes.
  • Proficiency in using logistics management systems, customs software, and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of commodity markets and trading practices is advantageous.
