Our client is seeking a high-caliber Graduate Investment Analyst to support the Founder (CIO & PM) across investment research, analysis, and portfolio monitoring. The analyst will work closely with the Founder, gaining broad exposure across the full investment lifecycle.This is a hands-on role with significant learning opportunities and responsibility from day one.

Our client is a newly established, founder-led hedge fund focused on fundamental, research-driven investment strategies. The firm operates with a lean structure, offering analysts direct exposure to portfolio construction, security selection, and investment decision-making alongside the CIO & PM.

Job Description

  • Conduct fundamental investment research on public equities and/or other relevant asset classes
  • Build and maintain financial models (3-statement models, valuation, scenario analysis)
  • Prepare investment memos, research summaries, and market updates for the CIO
  • Assist with idea generation, screening, and due diligence
  • Monitor portfolio positions, earnings releases, and key market developments
  • Support risk analysis, performance attribution, and post-investment reviews
  • Handle ad-hoc analytical and operational tasks in a start-up hedge fund environment

The Successful Applicant

Required Qualifications

  • Recent graduate (or graduating soon) from a top-tier US university
  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation methodologies, and capital markets
  • High proficiency in Excel; financial modeling skills required
  • Near-native fluency in both English and Chinese (Mandarin) - written and spoken
  • Ability to read and analyze Chinese and English financial materials, filings, and research
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate investment ideas
  • Demonstrated interest in hedge funds, investing, and global financial markets

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship or relevant experience in investment banking, asset management, hedge funds, equity research, or consulting
  • Familiarity with Python, VBA, or data analysis tools
  • Knowledge of US, China, and broader Asia-Pacific equity markets
  • CFA Level I candidate or strong intent to pursue the CFA Program
