Our client is a leading State-Owned Enterprise SOE with a strong presence in strategic sectors and a growing global footprint. The organization is committed to driving sustainable international investments and fostering cross-border partnerships.

Job Description

  • Provide strategic legal advice on overseas investment projects, including M&A, joint ventures, and greenfield investments.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex cross-border agreements and contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with PRC laws, Hong Kong regulations, international standards, and local jurisdictions in target markets.
  • Advise on risk management, dispute resolution, and regulatory issues related to overseas investments.
  • Liaise with external counsel and regulatory authorities across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support senior management in structuring deals and developing investment strategies.
  • Monitor changes in international investment laws and provide proactive guidance.

The Successful Applicant

  • PRC-qualified lawyer with a valid practicing certificate. Hong Kong or foreign legal qualification is a plus.
  • Minimum 10+ years of legal experience, with at least 5 years focused on cross-border investments or international transactions.
  • Experience gained in reputable international or leading PRC or international law firms is essential.
  • Proven track record in handling overseas investment projects, preferably in an SOE or large multinational environment.
  • Experience working in Hong Kong or advising on Hong Kong is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of international investment regulations, corporate law, and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English; Cantonese is a plus.
