About Our Client

We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Head of IT to lead our technology function at a dynamic Asian securities firm. This is a strategic leadership role for an all-rounded IT professional who can oversee a small but capable team covering application support, infrastructure, and cybersecurity.As the Head of IT, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the firm's technology roadmap, ensuring operational excellence, and aligning IT initiatives with business goals. You will play a key role in driving innovation, resilience, and efficiency across the organization.

Job Description

As a 'Head of IT', your main responsibilities will include:

  • Directing the IT department's strategic direction, development and future growth.
  • Overseeing the full spectrum of IT operations, including application support, infrastructure management, and cybersecurity, tech risk and tech audit etc.
  • Ensure robust IT security practices and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Working closely with decision-makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions. Act as a trusted advisor to senior management, translating technical concepts into business value.
  • Identifying and recommending new technology solutions.
  • Manage IT vendors, contracts and budgets to maximize value and performance.
  • Ensuring continuous delivery of IT services through oversight of service level agreements with end users and monitoring of IT systems performance.
  • Establishing lines of control for current and proposed information systems.



The Successful Applicant

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: 10+ years in IT, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the financial services or securities industry.
  • Technical Breadth: Strong knowledge across infrastructure, application support, and cybersecurity & tech risk/ tech audit.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead small, agile teams and drive results through vision, planning, and communication.
  • Business Acumen: Ability to align IT initiatives with business strategy and regulatory requirements.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels.
  • Candidate with cash equity system knowledge would be a plus.
  • Ability to speak fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin
