About Our Client
Our client is a global financial services institution who is looking to build a centralised procurement function in Hong Kong to handle their regional procurement activities. A very exciting role and a real "greenfield" operation where an experienced indirect procurement executive can drive material change within the organisation.
You will have direct accountability over procurement services in Asia. The role works with the local procurement functions in each of the business units to ensure they engage with vendors in an effective and efficient manner. The immediate priority will be to ensure local procurement processes and controls are effective, and to coordinate the rollout of Corporate wide procurement systems in Asia where appropriate.
The successful candidate will create effective partnerships with Business leaders, along with key oversight bodies - like Legal, Information Security, Risk Management, etc. in the Regional Office. You will work with the local Business Units to ensure the organization is purchasing quality products and services at competitive prices from preferred vendors, structuring and negotiating deals in order to mitigate the various risks.
The procurement lead will develop and maintain strong relationships and collaboration with the corporate procurement team in Head office, Regional and local practices, processes, methodologies and technologies must align to the Enterprise strategies and direction. Global vendor agreements and strategies should be leveraged where possible. You will participate and guide the enterprise team to ensure Asia business needs and requirements are taken into account.
The Successful Applicant
We are looking for current department heads of Procurement with regional oversight inAPAC, with exposure to a range ofindirects categories, such as IT, Professional services and travel. Ideally from FS, Insurance and hospitality backgrounds. You will need to be hands on, be able to drive and impact change across the organisation with exceptional stakeholder management, possess a strong risk & regulatory skill set and negotiation expertise.
In addition you will have had oversight and monitoring over Procurement operations, including Sourcing, Purchasing, related Source-to-pay Systems and Travel Services across Asia. Have Implemented appropriate procurement practises, structure, and systems across the Asia businesses including Regional Office, aligned to our clients global procurement practices, methodologies and system. You will develop monitoring processes to ensure Procurement operations across Asia to ensure adherence to best practices and policies and on a timely basis identify when processes are not aligned andutilize current and emerging technology to strategically serve the procurement and business needs.
- Demonstrated strengths in vendor negotiation, vendor management, partner collaboration and managing across boundaries
- Proven experience in transforming or implementing change on a large scale within a procurement unit
- Combination of training, educational background and experience in related fields and educational disciplines
- Advanced understanding of project management, data & analytics, continuous improvement methodologies and application
- Business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources
