About Our Client
This is a Global role for a leading player in the Ship-Management industry. With a Global team, covering all procurement activity, including supply management, technical services and spares, you will be responsible for defining the group procurement strategy of the business. Our client is a global MNC with a international presence with key operations based in Hong Kong.
Ensure that all international freight consignments are consolidated whenever possible financial savings can be
made without adversely impacting any individual ship. You will have close liaison with individual Purchasers as well as the freight forwarders. Ensure that all freight expenses are correctly approved and accrued per company policy. Investigate any freight related problems and to proactively suggest improvements within the system. Negotiate fleetwide supply contracts in accordance with company objectives. Define business rules/ requirements for any/ all future procurement systems. Develop and communicate a procurement business plan; establish, communicate and implement long-term goals
for the department in order to promote effectiveness and efficiency. To achieve our clients Vision. Develop, communicate and administer procurement team performance and development plans and appraisals. Oversee contract development and administration. Develop and implement procurement-related training programs for the procurement team and organization
The Successful Applicant
We are looking for Global Procurement professionals from the Shipping Industry, who can drive change, manage a large global team and understand the dynamics of the shipping industry, has dealt with ship owners and marine sales. You will need to have excellent relationship building and stakeholder management expertise, working with Main Board as well as suppliers, and marine sales companies for example.
