Job Description
As a crucial member of the buying team, you will manage a team of 16 merchandisers to support the team head on every buying related functions. Specifically, you will:
- Manage and develop different merchandising departments that involve several purchasing areas including textile, luggage and shoes
- Working closely with the purchasing team in the headquarters and country managers regarding straetegic negotiations with vendors
- Build and develop Kaufland's direct import business within the corresponding product groups across all sourcing countries, with the goal of building a long-term business relationship with the best performing suppliers/factories
- Ensuring the order processing, quality assurance and CSR are in line with internal compliance standard
- Regularly initiate product development and implement new item segments to optimize business development opportunity
The Successful Applicant
You has to be a highly loyal and motivated professional with relevant experience in a buying/sourcing office within the Asia Pacific region. Additionally, you have to be:
- Native German speaking and fluent in English; willing to travel internationally
- Degree holder in textile or related discipline with managerial experience
- Solid buying experience in textile with an entrepreneurial mind-set
- A good working knowledge of sourcing software and MS Office
- The ability to build strong working relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders
- A team orientated manager with good communication skills and cooperative attitude
