About Our Client

Our client is a market leader with global presence. To cope with their business growth, they are hiring a Deputy Head of Data to be 2nd chair of the data team across SEA.

Job Description

- Work with Head of Data to manage and expand the team across SEA with 10+ people, including Data Engineer, BI Developers, Data Analyst etc.
- Work with Head of Data to define data vision, strategy and roadmap, explore expansion plan/ opportunity
- Drive data culture, define Data Strategy, Management and Governance. Ensure reliable and friendly self-serve data environment for users.
- Drive Transformation and Innovation more than just data, but co-relates it with application and operations in general. Actively provide practical solutions to C-Level on how to improve/ advance the business
- Manage Data Architecture and Unified Data Structure
- Drive Modelling, Analytics and Insights across trends, transactions, finance, members, pre/post campaign etc., understand customer behavior and pattern, perform segmentation and provide recommendations with insight storytelling to business leaders.
- Business partner with regional BUs, provide data solutions with transformation projects driven.
- Strong in fronting C-Levels, proactive in discovering and resolving open-minded business questions with the use of data.
- Discover the latest data technologies, discover the feasibility and benefits bringing into the corporate environment
- Work with IT to maintain Machine Learning Operations (MLOps). Discover the use case on ML Models and AI solutions and drive vendor/ technical team on development

The Successful Applicant

- Bachelor in Business Administration, Statistics, Data Science or relevant disciplines.
- 12+ years' experience with All-rounded background with Data and IT (Application and Operations/ Finance plus); Currently at Senior Manager grade or above
- Hands on with SQL, Python
- Hands on with dashboard development (Power BI/ Tableau.).
- Experience in Data Analytics, Modelling and Insights
- Experience with data warehousing/ DaaS, ETL processes, and data governance.
- Experience with Snowflakes, AWS S3, AWS Glue, AWS Document DB, AWS Athena is a plus
- Experience in any Cloud Data Platform, AWS is a huge plus
- Experience in from scratch projects, possess both enterprise and start-up experience is a plus
- Strong in using data to talk business
- Confident, patient, mature and outspoken in presentations; Strong capability in answering open-ended business questions using data. Able to relate one to another
- Strong communicator across multi-cultural business users. Excellent data translator.
- Strong problem-solver, capability in making business impact with data
- Experience in data enablement with self-service BI hub is a plus
- Experience in MLOps and AI models is a plus
- B2C/ Brands industry background is a huge plus.
- Regional/ global project experience is a plus.
- People Management experience is a must.
- Good command in Chinese and English.
- Able to think out of the box and not just only follow SOP, adaptive to fast-paced, unstructured environment
- Calm, logical and practical leader with can-do attitude and ever-learning mindset.
