Job Description

The Deputy CEO of a large NGO will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the Board of Directors the colleagues within the senior leadership cabinet to ensure the operational efficiency, sustainability, and strategic growth of the organisation. The role includes overseeing the organisation's education affairs department, managing affiliated schools to deliver quality education, and supervising multiple departments to drive strategic development, daily operations, and budget management. Among the key objectives, this new Deputy CEO will be charged with the mission to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the organisation's services, facilitate the enhancement of collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and secure financial and non-financial support for its programs. The Deputy CEO will also oversee special projects and perform additional duties as assigned by the CEO.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree and possess at least 10 years of experience in a management role within a sizeable organisation. Familiarity with the operations of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) or the public sector is essential, and experience in the education sector and youth-related services is highly preferred. The candidate should have a solid understanding of the regulatory environment, strong organisational and execution skills, and excellent leadership and interpersonal abilities to guide strategic initiatives. Effective communication and influencing skills are crucial, along with fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Mandarin.
