Job Description

As a Software Developer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Writing, translating, and coding software programs and applications according to specifications.
  • Analysing and assessing existing business systems and procedures for improvement.
  • Collaborating with regional and local technology teams for efficient implementation of new software products and resolving adaptation issues.
  • Designing, executing, and monitoring software deliverables for performance and quality, including debugging and optimisation.
  • Generating reports and statistics on programming progress for management and team members.
  • Developing and maintaining user manuals and guidelines.
  • Training end users on new or modified programs.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A college diploma or university degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Software Engineering.
  • 3 to less than 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Python programming and Apache Spark.
  • Experience with Unix shell scripting.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with non-technical staff and interdisciplinary teams.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to learning new technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise and execute tasks effectively in high-pressure environments.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
