The role of Data Engineer/ Architect involves designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines to support analytics and decision-making processes. This position requires both communication and technical skills. Thie person would work closely with business users to understand requirements while collaborate closely with cloud ionfrastructure team to design roadmap and blueprint on enterprise-wise data architecture.

Job Description

As a Data Engineer/ Architect, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines to support analytics operations.
  • Collaborating with business users to understand data requirements and implement solutions.
  • Optimizing data workflows and ensuring efficient data processing.
  • Work closely with Cloud Infrastructure team to develop and maintain data architecture to support business intelligence initiatives.
  • Ensuring data quality and implementing validation processes to maintain accuracy.
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting data systems to ensure smooth operation.
  • Documenting data processes and providing technical guidance to stakeholders.
  • Exploring and implementing new tools and technologies to improve data management systems.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Data Engineer/ Architect should have:

  • A strong educational background in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years experience in Data Engineering
  • Hands on with developing data pipelines using Databricks
  • Well versed with Azure Services with understanding on the Azure Cloud Infrastructure
  • Knowledge of data modeling, management and lakehouse.
  • Well versed with DataOps and DevOps concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication with strong ability in collaboratively with cross-regional teams and provide effective data solutions
  • Candidates who have capability/ are experienced in developing and maintaining data architecture, crafting roadmap and blueprint could be considered as Data Architect
  • Retail/ Consumer goods/ Manufacturing/ Logistics industry background is a plus
  • Willing to learn, open-mind, proactive with commercial sense
  • Good command in English and Chinese
