This exciting role is going to join the compliance team to handle general compliance, compliance advisory, compliance trainings, gap analysis, policy and procedures updates. The candidate should have 3-5 years of working experience in general compliance, regulatory compliance, compliance/ FCC advisory within international corporate banking.

Our client is a multinational European bank and they are now opening an exciting role of a Compliance Associate to join the compliance team to handle general compliance, compliance advisory, compliance trainings, gap analysis, policy and procedures updates for the firm. Hong Kong, being the headquarter of Asia for nearly four decades, has built strong personal relationships with key food & agriculture and commodity trading companies in Asia.

Job Description

  • Responsible for assisting the Head of Compliance in compliance advisory to lines of business regarding rules and standards, codes of conduct, internal policy and local regulatory requirements on Financial Crime Compliance related topics etc.
  • Conduct gap analysis and assessments with respect to internal policies and standards; update compliance policies, procedures, codes and guidelines on a regular basis to ensure the appropriateness and fit-for-purpose of these standards and to propose amendments as required
  • Raise Compliance awareness and behavior amongst all staff and conduct relevant training for staff and regular induction training for new staff including rolling out of any Group Compliance e-learning initiatives
  • Assist in day-to-day compliance administrative supports including but not limited to day to day monitoring, personal account dealing, licensing, regulatory engagements, compliance testing, AML transaction monitoring, CDD and sanction reviews
  • Assist senior compliance officers to complete Compliance Risk Assessments including Key Risk Indicator (KRI) assessments that are in line with Global Compliance Themes
  • Assist on ad hoc basis on Investigating and clearing AML and Sanction related alerts escalated from first line of defence

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree with major in Business Administration, Finance, Legal or relevant discipline
  • 3-5 years of working experience in general compliance, regulatory compliance, compliance advisory or FCC advisory within international corporate banking
  • Able to work independently and a strong team player, able to work under stress and pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skills and strong organization skills
  • Excellent English spoken and written communication skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Skills including Word, Excel, Powerpoint
