Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Report to the Managing Director/CIO, the successful candidate will lead various operating functions responsible for Middle & Back office, Legal & Compliance, Technology, Support and Administration of the business
- Lead the effort to manage external relationships with counterparties / brokers, vendors, custodians, law firms, and external consultants.
- Manage and be responsible for Compliance team and SFC related matters, on all investment related and entity level compliance matters and reporting
- Oversee investment related operations activities including portfolio administration, valuations reconciliations, performance and PNL reporting, liquidity management, investment compliance and regulatory monitoring
- Coordinate with Group CFO and Group Finance Department on financial reporting, audits, and perform financial planning, budgeting and analysis
- Work with the Legal and Investment team on investment structure, agreements and contract negotiation
- Work with Group Tax team on tax related investment issues in both public and private securities markets
- Lead recruiting / talent acquisition projects as needed
- Drive operational efficiency initiatives and improvements
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate would be the person who is at a leading position with the operations team in the buy side firms / family office environment
- Degree graduate with minimum 10 to 15 years¡¯ relevant experience in the finance/investment industry, including some period of experience in an investment management firm in a similar role
- Previous experience in SFC Type 1,4,9 as RO and/or MIC is preferred although not mandatory
- Exposure to both Public Securities across various asset classes and markets; and Private Equity, Fund, Alternative Investments
- Solid all-round COO skills and knowledge across various non-investment functions inside an investment management firm
- Up-to-date Regulatory knowledge relevant to Investment management business
- Up-to-date knowledge on execution technology, OEMS, execution lifecycle and related operational flows
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Knowledge of markets and experience with investors/clients a positive
- Excellent communication and people skills, in addition to English, fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese are preferred but not required
