We are working with a retail client on a confidential finance executive search project.

Job Description

The candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations and strategic planning, directly reporting to the senior management team. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead financial initiatives in a retail environment, driving growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management and Strategic Planning
    • Oversee all financial operations, including financial statement preparation, budget management, cost control, and financial analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance.
    • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives, supporting offline store expansion, supply chain optimization, and digital transformation.
  • Team Leadership and Process Optimization
    • Lead the finance team, optimize financial processes, and enhance operational efficiency through digital transformation initiatives (e.g., ERP system implementation).
    • Mentor and manage the finance team to align their capabilities with the company's growth needs.
  • Risk Management and Compliance
    • Establish a robust financial risk management system to identify and mitigate potential risks in taxation, auditing, and fund management.
    • Ensure all financial activities comply with domestic and international laws and industry standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration and International Support
    • Collaborate with operations, procurement, and marketing teams to support offline store operations and explore new retail models.
    • Leverage fluent English language skills for international business expansion and cross-cultural team communication.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate comes with:

  • 10 to 20 years financial working experience in retail or FMCG sector
  • Bachelor or above degree, CPA qualification is highly preferred
  • Great English skill is essential. Japan element's working experience is a huge plus
  • Good problem solver and analytical skills.
