The Business Transformation Portfolio Manager will lead complex business transformation initiatives across trading and data environments, overseeing delivery from initial concept through implementation. This role combines structured project delivery with continuous process improvement, ensuring initiatives are executed with efficiency, transparency, and strong governance alignment.

Job Description

Portfolio & Programme Definition

  • Shape and define programme objectives, scope, and success criteria in collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain delivery roadmaps, structured plans, and timelines using tools such as Microsoft Project and Jira to ensure timely execution



Governance & Reporting

  • Implement effective project governance models including decision rights, escalation mechanisms, and approval processes
  • Produce clear, accurate progress reporting supported by relevant metrics and data insights



Delivery Oversight & Dependency Control

  • Drive delivery across multiple workstreams while managing priorities, dependencies, and sequencing
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (RAID), escalating when appropriate to safeguard outcomes



Resource & Cost Management

  • Build and maintain detailed resource forecasts
  • Track project spend, vendor costs, and usage to ensure financial discipline and budget adherence



Risk & Contingency Planning

  • Proactively identify delivery risks such as supplier delays, technology challenges, or funding constraints
  • Put mitigation and contingency plans in place to reduce delivery impact



Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the primary coordination point between business users, technology teams, and external partners
  • Provide structured updates and manage stakeholder expectations throughout the delivery lifecycle



Quality & Acceptance Management

  • Ensure all solutions, changes, and supporting documentation meet agreed standards
  • Coordinate formal acceptance processes, including approvals and sign-offs at key milestones



Vendor & Third-Party Management

  • Lead vendor evaluation and selection activities, including RFP processes
  • Ensure external partners fully understand scope, technical requirements, and quality expectations



Contract & SLA Oversight

  • Monitor vendor delivery against contractual commitments, SLAs, timelines, and budget terms
  • Address performance gaps and drive accountability where required



Financial Management & Performance Tracking

  • Own and manage programme-level budgets
  • Define and monitor KPIs to measure delivery success, financial performance, and return on investment



Cross-Team Coordination

  • Serve as the central liaison across all involved parties
  • Resolve conflicts, align teams, and ensure seamless integration of deliverables across the organisation



The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 8 years' experience delivering large-scale, high-value programmes, including strong exposure to vendor management and commercial negotiations
  • Solid understanding of project governance frameworks, controls, and performance reporting
  • Hands-on experience with Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid delivery approaches
  • Professional certification such as PMP, PfMP, PRINCE2, or Agile accreditation is highly desirable
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence, negotiate, and resolve issues effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities
  • Proficiency in Jira, Microsoft Project, and the Microsoft Office suite
